Planning is now well under way for Community Week when we will all be taking part in activities on the morning of Saturday 8th June…

Beavers: Volunteering in Broadstone Library and bag packing in Budgens.

Cubs: Gardening in small groups for elderly and infirm members of our local community. If you have an elderly neighbour who would benefit from this service, then please get in touch with us.

Scouts: Car wash on the forecourt of the United Reformed Church with refreshments in the church hall.

In addition, Beavers and Cubs will once again spend their unit meetings delivering leaflets to advertise the Broadstone Fun Day in July. The Scouts’ evening activities are yet to be confirmed.

This year, we have also booked the library display area for two weeks commencing Saturday 25th May. Do you have flair for display? Would you be willing to assist with this task? Please contact Gill if you can help on 01202 602538 or gsl@broadstonescouts.org.

Save the date: Scout Community Week 2013

Back in June, groups across the UK took on a range of projects for our groundbreaking fundraising initiative, Scout Community Week. All that effort really paid off and the campaign proved to be an enormous success.

Scouts made a real difference to local communities and raised vital funds too. As such we’re really pleased to announce that Scout Community Week will return in 2013, running from 3-9 June.

Community Week Plans Underway!

We have all been very busy at Broadstone Scout Group, making plans for Scout Community Week – our opportunity to help our community, in return for your help with our fundraising.

We are a large Scout Group with about 130 young people currently registered, so it has taken a lot of careful planning to involve them all in Scout Community Week.  As a leadership team, we felt it important to take this opportunity to be out in the community together, so we are planning to impact on Broadstone on the morning of Saturday 19th May.
